Kyoji Horiguchi breaks down Amir Albazi at UFC Vegas 113 co-main event. The co-main event of UFC Vegas 113, held on February 7 at the UFC APEX in Las Vegas, delivered a high-level flyweight showdown that had fans locked in from the opening bell till the end.

Amir Albazi and Kyoji Horiguchi stepped into the Octagon with everything on the line, bringing contrasting styles, elite experience, and serious momentum into one of the most anticipated fights of the night.

Amir Albazi (17-2) came into the co-main event looking to get back on track after his most recent official UFC loss. His last outing occurred in November , 2024, when he lost a unanimous decision to former flyweight champion Brandon Moreno. That defeat snapped what had been a six-fight winning streak, and marked Albazi’s first loss under the UFC banner.

Before that loss, Albazi had defeated notable opponents such as Kai Kara-France by split decision in June 2023 and scored a third-round TKO win over Alessandro Costa in December 2022, showcasing both his striking and grappling skills.

Albazi also faced various canceled bouts
in recent years due to injuries and scheduling changes, contributing to his long layoff before the Horiguchi fight, but his resume still reflected one of the strongest runs in the division prior to the setback.

His opponent, Kyoji Horiguchi arrived in Las Vegas on a high note after a successful return to the UFC. On November 22, 2025, he made his first Octagon appearance since 2016 at UFC Qatar where he defeated Tagir Ulanbekov by third-round submission (rear-naked choke). That dominant victory showcased his elite skill and put him squarely back into flyweight title discussions.

Horiguchi’s win over Ulanbekov continued a long period of success across promotions, he was unbeaten in his last six fights overall before heading into UFC Vegas 113, compiling a mix of decisive victories by finish and decision. His strong run included wins in other organizations like RIZIN before returning to the UFC.

Horiguchi made his way into the octagon first and Albazi followed. The fight opened with both men testing distance, but Horiguchi quickly found his rhythm with sharp jabs and quick strikes. Albazi tried to press forward, but he couldn’t match Horiguchi’s speed and accuracy. Horiguchi scored clean shots throughout the round and even rocked Albazi with a left hand, leaving Albazi visibly hurt at times. Late in the round, Horiguchi landed a sharp left hand that clearly got Albazi’s attention. Round 1 was a strong opening round for Horiguchi.

Round 2 started and Horiguchi continued to impose his pace. He busted up Albazi’s face with repeated sharp combinations, especially dangerous left hooks and straight shots. Albazi showed heart and brought pressure, but Horiguchi’s technical striking and movement kept him ahead. Albazi stayed tough and tried to push forward, but his takedown attempts didn’t work. Horiguchi stayed composed, defended well, and continued landing the cleaner shots.

The last round saw Horiguchi once again controlling the action. He landed heavy blows that kept Albazi on the defensive and nearly finished the fight with a big overhand left. Albazi’s face grew more bloodied as Horiguchi’s offense continued to pile up. Despite Albazi’s toughness and willingness to engage, Horiguchi’s experience and precision carried him through the third round, sealing the victory.

“Today’s performance, OK,” Horiguchi said about his win. “I need more, better performance. Next time, OK? Of course, I want a title shot. Who is the champion right now? I want to fight you!”
