Former AKO standout and now UFC fighter Josias Musasa has suffered his second consecutive loss, falling to Colby Thicknesse, and fans are beginning to question whether this might be his final appearance under the UFC banner.
Musasa first gained attention at Impact Championship before making his way to one of Africa’s biggest MMA platforms, AKO, where he delivered a string of impressive performances. His undefeated run there earned him recognition from Dana White’s Contender Series (DWCS), where he finally got his shot on the global stage.
He made his Contender Series debut against Otari Tanzilovi, walking into the Octagon full of confidence and composure. Musasa showed UFC what he’s made of as he scored a split decision victory over his opponent.

His win solidified his place on the big stage and he was awarded a UFC contract and booked to face Carlos Vera. Unfortunately, his winning streak came to an end when Vera capitalized early and submitted Musasa via rear-naked choke in the first round.
Now riding a two-fight losing streak since signing with the promotion, Musasa finds himself in a difficult position. Despite the challenges, many fans remain hopeful, believing that the Congolese fighter still has the skill to bounce back stronger.
For now, Musasa awaits a decision from the UFC on whether he’ll get another chance to prove himself or if his time with the promotion has come to an end.
