UFC fighter Jiri Prochazka had some heated responses after his callout of Magomed Ankalaev was met with accusations that he was a fraud.
Magomed Ankalaev recently secured a victory over Alex Pereira in a hard-fought battle at UFC 313. A possible rematch could be on the horizon, but for now, Ankalaev is content to revel in his victory. Following his win, former contender Jiri Prochazka posted a congratulatory message to Ankalaev and called for a title shot. However, Ankalaev responded by labeling Prochazka a fraud and stated that Prochazka would need to win more fights before getting a shot.
These comments riled up Prochazka, who fired back with a heated response on The Ariel Helwani Show.
“His mouth, and what he’s saying… It’s something I don’t like,” Prochazka stated earlier today, discussing UFC champion Magomed Ankalaev. “I don’t like it. I like all people, except him. But he’s too much—too much, with his last tweet about me. Haha, I don’t know why he’s talking about me; he doesn’t know me. He doesn’t know me personally.”

He continued, “One thing I can say to Magomed Ankalaev: He can say whatever he wants, but I know the only person who is a fraud is him. When I met him at the UFC PI in Las Vegas, he was very nice. He was friendly, saying ‘Hello, nice to meet you, all good.’ But now he’s a superstar and a big gangster, playing these games. He won the title after Alex Pereira gave one of his worst performances.”
“He’s the only fraud here…” Prochazka concluded. “Right now, he’s a champion, but nobody respects that he’s a champion.”
Prochazka make have a chance at the title shot after finishing Jamahal Hill at UFC 311 in January. He bounced back from two title losses to Pereira, one of which occurred on just weeks’ notice at UFC 303.
