Former UFC light heavyweight champion Jamahal Hill is finally telling his side of the viral UFC 323 altercation with Joanna Jedrzejczyk, and he’s not holding back.
A short clip from the event showed Hill saying, “I’ll knock you the fck out… if you touch my girl I’m going to knock you the fck out.” Jedrzejczyk fired back with, “Yeah, you will?” before security stepped in.
Jedrzejczyk later released a statement insisting that she simply defended her name, saying, “When somebody uses my name, falsely, without any basis in truth, I will always stand up for myself, and for that I do not deserve to be threatened.”
Hill has now responded with a detailed breakdown of what he says really happened. According to Jamahal Hill, the moment wasn’t about defending his girlfriend, because she wasn’t even at the event. His girlfriend later confirmed that on Instagram.
Hill says the confrontation started while he and his little brother were in the VIP fighter lounge.
“I greet everybody. I go up to Joanna, I say ‘hey what’s up champ, how you doing?’” Hill said on his YouTube channel. “She’s like ‘yeah, what’s up? Where’s your girl? Your girl’s not here? Where’s your girl?’ I was like, no, she’s not here.”
He claims Jedrzejczyk immediately began to act strangely.
“She’s like ‘you’re Mr. Big Player Man, Mr. Big Time,’” Hill added. “I’m like what are you talking about? She’s like ‘I don’t know how you get down in America but I’m from Poland. We’re real gangsters. I don’t do this shit.’”
“This lady just completely flipped her shit,” Hill continued. “She’s going on saying, ‘no motherfcker, you like talking shit.’ That’s the first legible thing she said. I asked her, what did I say? She said, ‘no, I don’t do this, I’m from Poland motherfcker.’”
“Now she’s threatening me,” Hill said. “Then she says, ‘I should have smashed your girl’s head in… I’ll smash your head in too.’ I have not threatened her. I have not raised my voice to her. All I’ve asked is, what is the issue?”
Hill insists he only snapped verbally after she threatened both him and his girlfriend.
“At that point I told her she sounded retarded,” Hill said. “She approached me like she was going to do something. UFC staff grabbed her, not me.”
The former champion also revealed what he believes sparked the tension and it dates back years.Hill says he once “shot his shot” with Jedrzejczyk in New York around the time of the UFC 229 bus incident. Nothing happened, according to him, and he had already told his girlfriend about it before UFC 323. However, he says Jedrzejczyk’s manager kept trying to stir drama.

“Her manager is subliminally dropping messages to my girl,” Hill said. “I’m real and honest, my girl already knew. But her manager kept doing it.”
“She turns to Joanna and says, ‘you had sex with Jamahal?’ Right in front of my girl,” Hill said. “I absolutely never said that. I said I tried to sleep with her, nothing more.”
Hill showed old messages between himself and Jedrzejczyk to back up that nothing happened beyond him shooting his shot.
“From what I’m being told, she’s upset because she thinks I told my girl she was in my DMs,” Hill said. “Never happened. I never said that.”
Despite everything, Jamahal Hill says he’s not holding a grudge.
“I don’t hold no ill will towards JJ,” Hill said. “My girl don’t hold no ill will towards JJ. She actually really liked JJ.”
Hill hasn’t fought since his loss to Khalil Rountree Jr. earlier this year. Jedrzejczyk, meanwhile, entered the UFC Hall of Fame in 2024. The backstory may still evolve, but one thing is clear — Jamahal Hill isn’t letting the narrative run without him.
