Boxer Jake Paul took a significant risk by battling BKFC champion Mike Perry, but it paid off. The fighters faced each other in a boxing match at the Amalie Arena in Tampa, Florida.

Jake Paul has a three-win streak since his first and only career loss. The fighter is set to battle retired boxing legend Mike Tyson on November 15. His opponent, Mike Perry, is a former UFC veteran who has won all his BKFC fights since his debut. Although he has not had a pro boxing fight since 2015, the former UFC fighter will get into the cage with Jake Paul.

The first round started with cautious stepping from both opponents, but Paul stepped up and landed a blow that dropped Perry. He continued with a right hand that rocked Perry but charged into attack. Paul, displaying impressive footwork, managed to stay out of range. ‘Platinum’ went in for a clinch and tried a few body shots, but Paul broke free, landed a jab, and left hook. Perry backed him into a corner and unleashed a deadly striking combo, but ‘The Problem Child’ put on a good defence.

He responded with lead hooks and jabs, but Perry was relentless. Paul continued to rain down blows on Perry, who managed to stay in the ring until the first round ended.

Paul dropped Perry in the early minutes of round two, but Perry managed to get back on his feet. He didn’t look good. He continued to attack, but Paul danced around and tagged him. Moving faster than Perry, Paul landed several shots but missed a deadly right hand that could have ended the fight. Perry kept coming despite the attack, and Pau soon went in for a clinch, but Perry spun and dropped him. Perry received a warning from the referee but continued barring Paul. Paul kept throwing punches, and Perry kept eating them till the close of the round.

Perry got his groove back in round three and was constantly on Paul. He backed him into a corner and kept firing, but Paul kept his defences up. Perry continued this strategy, backing Paul into the corner, but ‘The Problem Child’ fired back deadly shots. However, Perry did not retaliate with as many shots that landed. A nice uppercut from Paul gave him some space from Perry, but his aggressor was soon on him. The fight continued with this hot exchange till the bell rang.

Perry is getting better in every round despite Paul having more scores. He landed a right hand that pushed Perry away, giving him some breathing space. Perry tries to retaliate, but Paul goes in for a clinch. Paul soon has him in the corner and tries to finish it with devastating blows, but Perry soon recovers and punches his way out. The fighter remained in the fight but is slowing down, and Paul uses this to his advantage. Paul landed a hard right that stumbled Perry, but he remained in the fight until the end of the round.

Round five and round six go almost the same, with Perry eating punches from Paul, but he stays on his feet. Perry is barely firing back and keeps getting tagged with savage punches. He ate a big right that ended round five. The sixth and last round was a walk in the park for Paul. ‘The Problem Child’ landed a left hook that dropped Perry, and the count begins, but he beats it and gets back on his feet. He tried to fight but wobbled and was pretty unstable. The referee called the match to a close, leaving Jake Paul the winner via TKO.

After the bout, both fighters had much to say about their opponent.

“Man. he’s tough as nails,” Paul said of Perry. “I’m sorry it took so long, Tampa, but I love you. And I’m going to get another KO and prove everyone wrong once again. Everyone said that this is a mistake taking this fight. That I was an idiot, I was risking it. But that’s why I’m here. I take big risks. I put it on the line. And it’s anyone, anytime and any place.”

“I was trying to roll with the punches and hit your ass back,” Perry told Paul. “You did a great job. You were way too fast for me, and I couldn’t adjust.”
