A date has finally been set for a showdown between Gilbert Burns [22-7 MMA] [15-7 UFC] and Sean Brady [16-1MMA] [6-1UFC]. The fight was verbally consented to and is set to take place on Saturday, September 7th, but a location has yet to be announced.
Burns is currently ranked No.8 in USA welterweight and is a former welterweight title challenger. However, he suffered a knockout defeat at the hands of then-defending champion Kamaru Usman.
The 37-year-old has defeated a round of formidable fighters like Gunnar Nelson, Demian Maia, Tyron Woodley, Stephen Thompson, and Neil Magny. His latest win was in 2023 when he defeated Jorge Masvidal at UFC 287. However, Burns has suffered defeats in his following consecutive matches against Belal Muhammad and Jack Della Maddalena since then. He hopes to end this streak and return to his former winning glory.
His opponent, on the other hand, has lost only once in his career. Brady, 31, is ranked No.10 and had his last battle last year, where he defeated Kelvin Gastelum[18-9MMA]. The athlete’s only loss was a TKO finish at the hands of Belal Muhammad in 2022 at UFC 280. The latest lineup for UFC Fight Night includes; Gilbert Burns vs Sean Brady and Calvin Kattar vs Kyle Nelson.
