After picking up his third win of the year, Darren Till is ready to face new opponents. However, Jake Paul is not on his list of potential matchups.
Till recently secured a win over Luke Rockhold at Misfits Boxing 22 and has cemented himself as the face of Misfits. For his next fight, Till is open to a matchup with Carl Froch, whom he called out after his win. Many were surprised by this callout, as the assumption was that he would go up against influencers like Jake Paul or KSI.
“I felt like I could have knocked him out at any point,” Till said at the post-fight press conference. “I wanted to just test things, go to the body, and stuff like that. No disrespect to him, but he felt very stiff in there. To be honest, it was really easy. It was too easy. I can’t lie, it was just so easy.”
“I don’t think I’m getting Jake Paul,” Till added. “I’m being a realist. Jake Paul’s not taking the fight. … Seriously, do you guys think he would take the fight? Because I’ll campaign for it right now if I see you nodding and say yeah. I’ll ask for it, but I just don’t think he’s going to take it.
“I’m not going to sit here and beg for a fight I’m not going to get. He’s a bigger star on a bigger trajectory. Why am I going to sit here and waste my breath and waste my time? He’s not taking it right now, so I won’t call for it. Andrew Tate won’t take it, Mike Perry, Jorge Masvidal, none of them want to take it. That’s the truth! … No one wants to fight!”
Misfits’ president said the promotion has plans for their new champion, which include Froch, who was ringside for the event. While the promotion has not made an official offer to Froch, they have spoken openly about being interested in the matchup, and for Till, that’s the one he’s chasing next. If that doesn’t come through, Till is in no hurry as he has other fighters in mind to face off in the ring.

“I try to be a truth-teller all the time: Carl Froch is one of the best British fighters we’ve had in professional boxing,” Till said. “If you look back at his accolades, I have to be a realist. But he’s talking shit and I’m talking shit, so the fight should get made. But I just feel like the more I’m talking shit, he’s backing off. I’m the bigger guy and he knows I’ve got power. Is he a better boxer than me? Yeah, he is. But I just know with MMA things and stuff like that, I can get him out of there.”
