Former UFC light heavyweight contender Dominick Reyes didn’t hold back on Friday morning as he slammed longtime rival Jon “Bones” Jones for stringing everyone along on retirement talk. Reyes calls out Jon Jones: ” If You’re Done, Say You’re Done”

As the MMA world waits for clarity on Jon Jones’ fighting future, Dominick “The Devastator” Reyes is not keeping quiet. The former title challenger, who once pushed Jones to the brink in one of the most debated decisions in UFC history, is now calling out the champ for stringing fans and fighters all along

The MMA world has held its breath, hoping for Jon Jones to step back into the Octagon for a long-awaited heavyweight title unification clash with Tom Aspinall. But that moment never came. Instead, Jones kept fans guessing staying silent, dropping hints, and dodging timelines before eventually bowing out and officially stepping away from the sport. With no fight in sight, the UFC had no choice but to promote Aspinall as the undisputed heavyweight champion.

Not long after hanging up the gloves, Jon Jones stirred the pot again teasing a return for the speculated UFC White House card next July. But not everyone’s buying it. UFC CEO Dana White didn’t exactly jump at the idea, many fans also rolled their eyes. For Dominick Reyes , who went to war with Jones for the light heavyweight belt at UFC 247 with Jones winning a highly controversial decision. the frustration runs deeper. In his eyes, Jones burned through any goodwill he had left with all the back-and-forth and headline-chasing antics.

In a recent appearance on Pound-4-Pound podcast, Reyes didn’t mince words. “I think because he does this thing that he does, and he just strings everyone along, and he lies, and tells this and says that,” Reyes told the Pound-4-Pound podcast. “And he’s smug about it and arrogant. He’s not being genuine. We just want a genuine answer out of you, bro. Not some bullcrap string everybody a long, ‘Oh, well, maybe this, uhhhh.’ Are you going to fight or not? I think that’s what everybody’s mad about, trying to play with all of us.”

“If you’re done, say you’re done. If you’re not done, say, ‘Let’s go, but I want more money, or I want this.’ That’s it. Don’t say, ‘We’ll see! There’s a big announcement coming out, and then it’s nothing. I think that’s why people were so mad.

After their bout, UFC President Dana White and other fans believed Dominick Reyes had done enough to end Jon Jones’ reign. White pushed for an immediate rematch to settle the score, but instead of facing the controversy head-on, Jones chose to vacate the belt and step away from the sport.

“I did!” Reyes said when asked if he wanted another shot at Jones. “If you guys don’t remember after that fight, I lobbied for the rematch for an entire year and he said, ‘Drop the belt’ and went to heavyweight. Literally that’s what happened. People forget that, too. He ran from me! He said, ‘You’re not paying me enough to fight that guy. He’s too dangerous.’ That was literally his response.”

“Fight Khalil, beat Khalil. Then I’ll probably have to fight again, I’d probably have to fight Jiri [Prochazka],” Reyes said of his road to the title. “I would love to rematch Jiri. That would be awesome. And then fight for the title, whoever has it. I’d like it to be one, but I know they’re not going to make it that easy for me.”

At the end of the day, fans just want clarity. And for fighters like Dominick Reyes, who gave everything chasing greatness, it’s tough watching the sport stand still around one man’s indecision.
