The Professional Fighters League,PFL has begun its maiden Europe season. The debuting playoff took place at the OVO Hydro Arena in Glasgow, Scotland.
The season featured various bouts from several fighters,, but the long-awaited fight was the battle between local favorite and former PFL lightweight finalist Stevie Ray and Lewis Long. The Scottish fighter thrilled fans with a spectacular performance and scored a significant win after submitting an opponent with a Scottish twister for the second time in his career.
“Braveheart” displayed superior jiu-jitsu skills by forcing a tap out from Long in the first round. Ray has since spoken about retiring, however after this impressive win, the fighter was asked if he will be quitting soon but he replied, “Maybe one more.” Ray has had an excellent career, finishing ex-UFC and WEC lightweight champion Anthony Pettis in 2022. The fighter has a [7-4] record in UFC and a [3-4] record in PFL.
