Per his charitable nature, Dana White has agreed to hand out $100,000 in two Fight of the Night bonuses. Usually, the fighters are rewarded a $50,000 bonus per PPV event, but Max Holloway and Justin Gaethje got White to up the stakes to $300,000 in April, which he did. Money was given to the two fighters. Now, the UFC CEO intends to repeat this generosity.
The action was spurred by Brian Ortega, who coaxed White into raising the bonus to $303,000 after he[White] said it was difficult choosing Fight of the Night amongst many entertaining battles. White eventually gave two Fight of the Night bonuses for UFC 303.
“Yeah, F*ck it, I’ll do it,” White replied to the delight of the fans after being asked to increase the bonuses. He settled for two bonuses rather than the $303,000 requested by Brian Ortega.
UFC 303 promises to be the biggest fight ever and has a main card of 10 fighters. Although some fights were changed –like McGregor’s comeback battle against Michael Chandler and Jamahal Hill vs. Carlos Ulberg—the event still has an exciting lineup.
Most fighters on the main card have earned one performance bonus except Michael Page, who recently left Bellator. The competition will be stiff as most fighters have their eyes on the extra cash, which may mean more epic takedowns and KOs.
