Poster for PFL Africa Morocco: Osigwe vs Mandar in a women’s catchweight bout, fighters flank flags of Morocco and Nigeria, event in Casablanca on Oct 10.

Jane Osigwe and Sanaa Mandar will meet again at PFL Africa 3 in Morocco, more than a year after their first encounter at African Knockout (AKO) 10. Osigwe won that five-round contest by unanimous decision in August 2025, giving her a psychological advantage heading into the rematch.

Osigwe will look to rebound from a split-decision loss to Juliet Ukah at PFL Africa 1 in April. Meanwhile, Mandar will have home-crowd support as she attempts to avenge her previous defeat and hand Osigwe another loss.

Last 3 Bouts

Lose. Juliet Ukah — Split decision
Win. Sanaa Mandar — Unanimous decision
Win. Cynthia Jibidar — Unanimous decision

Strengths
Striking power: Three of Osigwe’s five professional victories have come by KO/TKO, making her punching threat an important part of this matchup.
Experience against Mandar: She already knows what it takes to beat her opponent after winning their first meeting.
Ability to go the distance: Her consecutive decision victories over Mandar and Cynthia Jibidar demonstrate her ability to compete across multiple rounds.
Aggression: Osigwe can put opponents under pressure when she establishes her striking rhythm.

Weaknesses
Coming off a defeat: Her split-decision loss to Juliet Ukah means she enters the rematch looking to rebuild momentum.
Potential overreliance on striking: If Mandar disrupts her rhythm with clinch work or takedowns, Osigwe may need to show more variety.
Weight management: Tapology lists Osigwe at 117.3 pounds for her April bout, above the contracted 115-pound limit. With this fight scheduled at a 132-pound catchweight, her preparation and conditioning will be worth watching.

Keys to Victory
Use her striking early: Osigwe should establish her jab and combinations before Mandar settles into the fight.
Maintain distance: She needs to avoid allowing Mandar to turn exchanges into prolonged clinch battles.
Manage her pace: Rather than chasing an early finish, Osigwe should maintain a consistent output and take advantage of openings.
Build on the first victory: She should use what worked in their previous meeting while preparing for Mandar to make tactical adjustments.

Sanaa Mandar
Last 3 Bouts

Lose. Jane Osigwe — Unanimous decision
Win. Joy Ebanda Obanla — Unanimous decision
Win. Marie Mengue — Unanimous decision

Strengths
Experience in longer fights: Mandar has already competed against Osigwe over five rounds, giving her direct experience of the opponent she will face.
Decision victories: Her wins over Joy Ebanda Obanla and Marie Mengue demonstrate her ability to perform consistently over three rounds.
Submission ability: Her first-round armbar victory over Theresa Ajiboye shows she can finish a fight on the ground.
Home advantage: Fighting in Casablanca gives Mandar the opportunity to compete in front of her home crowd.

Weaknesses
Previous loss to Osigwe: Mandar needs to correct the mistakes that cost her their first encounter.
Limited knockout record: None of her three professional wins has come by KO/TKO, according to Sherdog.
Striking threat: Osigwe has recorded more knockout victories, so Mandar must be careful when exchanging punches at close range.
Limited professional experience: With five professional bouts, Mandar has less experience than fighters with more extensive records, although she has already faced Osigwe over five rounds.

Keys to Victory
Make tactical adjustments: Mandar must avoid repeating the approach that led to her unanimous-decision loss in their first fight.
Mix up her attacks: Combining striking with clinch work and takedown attempts could prevent Osigwe from settling into a comfortable rhythm.
Target the later rounds: If she can maintain her pace and make the fight competitive late, Mandar could create opportunities to take control.
Use the home crowd: She should channel the support into a composed performance rather than rushing exchanges in search of a finish.
