Two UFC fighters clash in the octagon: a shirtless fighter in black shorts delivers a knee as his opponent in yellow trunks struggles on the mat.

Payton Talbott makes a huge statement at UFC 332, stopping former two-time UFC flyweight champion Deiveson Figueiredo by TKO at 2:09 of the first round.

The co-main event of UFC 332 brings a fascinating bantamweight clash as former UFC flyweight champion Deiveson Figueiredo takes on rising contender Payton Talbott at UFC 332. Figueiredo, the former two-time UFC flyweight champion, enters the bout looking to stop a two-fight losing streak. The Brazilian has suffered consecutive defeats to Umar Nurmagomedov and Song Yadong, with Song submitting him via guillotine choke in the second round of their May 2026 meeting. Before that difficult stretch, Figueiredo had already established himself as a serious force at bantamweight. He picked up wins over Rob Font, Cody Garbrandt and Marlon Vera after moving up from flyweight, showing that his championship experience could translate to the heavier division.

Standing across from him is Payton Talbott, one of the division’s rising names. Talbott enters the fight on a two-fight winning streak, most recently defeating former two-division champion Henry Cejudo by unanimous decision in December 2025. Before that, he stopped Felipe Lima and also owns a UFC victory over Cameron Saaiman. The 28-year-old enters UFC 332 with an 11-1 record and is ranked No. 11 at bantamweight. He has not fought since his victory over Cejudo, making this his first Octagon appearance of 2026.

Talbott wastes little time establishing his range, using his speed and movement before finding the opening he needs.
The breakthrough comes with a straight right that drops Figueiredo. Talbott immediately follows him to the canvas with hammerfists, but Figueiredo manages to survive the early danger and gets back to his feet. Figueiredo tries to change the momentum with a single-leg takedown attempt and then works into a body lock. Talbott is able to break free before the Brazilian can establish meaningful control. Back on the feet, Talbott turns the pressure back up.

Two mixed martial artists in an octagon exchange a punch as one reaches toward the other’s glove during a bout.

Talbott connects with another combination that visibly hurts Figueiredo and forces the former champion toward the fence. Figueiredo manages to escape, but Talbott continues tracking him down. Talbott briefly misses with a spinning wheel kick, but he quickly gets back to his boxing. Another clean punch lands and Figueiredo goes down for a second time. Talbott swarms with follow-up strikes, leaving Figueiredo struggling to defend himself. The Referee steps in at 2:09, bringing the fight to an end.

The victory gives Talbott his third straight win and improves his professional record to 12-1. It also marks his second consecutive victory over a former UFC champion after his unanimous-decision win over Henry Cejudo. After the stoppage, Talbott wastes no time calling for another major name, Sean O’Malley, making it clear that he wants to keep climbing the bantamweight rankings. For Figueiredo, the loss marks his fifth defeat in his last six fights and raises fresh questions about the former champion’s future. “Extremely happy,” Talbott said about his win. “I just mopped the floor with two champions back to back. Sean O’Malley, you can’t run forever.”

Elsewhere on the main card, Payton Talbott made a statement of his own, steamrolling former champion Deiveson Figueiredo in the opening round. Roberto Soldic overcomes a difficult opening round to make a statement in his UFC debut. Khaos Williams drops Soldic twice in the first round and appears to have the early momentum, but the former KSW two-division champion adjusts quickly. From the second round onward, Soldic takes control with powerful combinations, pressure and ground control, hurting Williams multiple times and dominating the final two rounds. He ultimately earns a unanimous decision victory, 29-28, 29-27, 29-27, to begin his UFC career with a win. Williams starts fast, but Soldic takes over and finishes the fight in complete control.
