The upcoming UFC 304 is set to host the memorable battle between English MMA star Paddy Pimblett and Bobby Green. The English fighter will face Green on July 27, 2024, and it will be his first fight on home soil since 2022.
Although Green currently ranks high above Pimblett, he believes his opponent is unworthy and has his eyes set on Renato Carneiro Moicano. Green, who has only been submitted twice in his career, was the first to call out ‘The BADDY’ after beating Jim Miller at UFC 300. However, Pimblett believes he deserves a more deserving fight. Speaking to The Mac Life, Pimblett said. “ I wanted to fight the guy ranked No. 10. Moicano is funny. We’d have a good little build-up. Bobby Green is just a bellend… He’s a proper tool. He’s a proper weapon. He is. The funniest line is he says, ‘He mentioned me.’ I didn’t mention you! You mentioned me first. So then I mentioned you, you little sausage.
“He’s just a proper tool.” He continued, “I think he’s a proper sh*t human being. He’s a proper wanker. Saying that, I mentioned him first. He’s just lying. Why would I mention you? Why would I mention Bobby Green?”
Green also stepped up his trash talk and called Pimblett a “Spoiled brat,” telling him he needed to shut the f**k up.” Although ‘The Baddy’ respects Green’s skills as a fighter, he believes he has what it takes to knock Green off his feet.
“He’s got very good striking. He’s got good hands, but his chin’s gone after what happened with Jalin Turner. Jim Miller is a no-knockout artist who wobbled once or twice in that fight at UFC 300. I think that is off Jalin Turner absolutely obliterating Bobby Green’s Skull into the canvas.
“His striking’s very good,” He continued. “His takedown defence is very good and that’s what he’s gonna try and do. He gonna try and use his takedown defense keep it on the feet ‘cause he thinks he’ll outstrike me. As I say, his chin’s gone, so strike with me. We’ll see what happens. I can see me knocking out. I can see me submitting him. I’m sure someone said he’s never been submitted, so that would be nice, to be fair. The first person to submit Bobby Green.”
Despite his bravado, Green will be Pimblett’s toughest fight yet. The bout will be an opportunity for Pimblett to move up in the rankings and probably face his long-awaited rival, Renato Moicano.
“If I beat Bobby and take rank 15, or whatever happens with the rankings by then, Moicano is stull a couple of ranks above me,” He said. “I just think the build-up to that fight will be great as well. Moicano is funny. He’s a great grappler, I’m a great grappler, I think we’d end up just having a brawl on the feet.”
