Michael Page out of UFC roster discussions are gaining momentum after the former Bellator star was reportedly removed from the UFC rankings pool despite extending his winning streak at UFC Paris.
Michael “Venom” Page picked up a unanimous decision victory over Nursulton Ruziboev last Saturday, earning his fourth consecutive win and improving to 5-1 inside the Octagon since joining the UFC in 2024. While the result added another victory to his résumé, it did little to silence criticism surrounding his recent performances.
Ahead of UFC Paris, Page admitted that he had not signed a new contract with the promotion after completing the final fight on his existing deal. The 39-year-old acknowledged that his recent outings have failed to generate the excitement UFC fans and matchmakers typically expect.
Now, fresh reports have cast even more doubt on his future with the organization.
According to veteran MMA journalist John Morgan, UFC executives informed media ranking panelists that Page had been removed from rankings eligibility.
“Dear Panelists, Michael Page has been removed from rankings eligibility effective immediately,” the email stated.
The development has fueled speculation that Michael Page could be on his way out of the UFC roster, although neither the fighter nor his management team has officially confirmed his contractual status.
The move comes shortly after Page openly questioned whether the UFC would offer him a new deal following another decision victory that drew criticism from fans.
“They weren’t happy with me before; they’re not going to be happy with me now,” Page said after UFC Paris.
“If I put myself in their shoes, it’s like, ‘Same thing. We can sign him again, but are we going to see much more?'”
Despite the uncertainty, Page’s UFC run has been largely successful on paper.
Since arriving from Bellator, he has earned victories over notable names such as Kevin Holland, Jared Cannonier, Sam Patterson and Nursulton Ruziboev. His only defeat came against Ian Machado Garry.
However, many of his recent fights have drawn criticism for their cautious pace. The counter-striking style that made him a fan favorite in Bellator has often resulted in low-output contests inside the UFC, leading to boos from crowds and frustration from viewers.
Even Page has acknowledged that he has not consistently delivered the type of performances fans expect.
“I know I could do better,” Page recently admitted.”The fans deserve more, the UFC deserves more, and I know I can give more.”
If this truly marks the end of his UFC tenure, Page leaves the promotion with an impressive 5-1 record and victories over several ranked opponents.
Before joining the UFC, Page built his reputation as one of Bellator’s biggest stars, earning notable wins over Douglas Lima, Paul Daley, Goiti Yamauchi and Cyborg Santos. For now, the UFC has yet to publicly clarify Page’s status.
