The MMA community is mourning the heartbreaking loss of UFC flyweight contender Allan Nascimento, who has passed away at the age of 34 following an apparent heart attack.
The UFC confirmed the tragic news on Monday, revealing that Allan Nascimento was found unresponsive at his home after reportedly suffering a heart attack in his sleep.
“This morning, Monday, August 3rd, our beloved flyweight fighter, Allan Nascimento, was found unresponsive after suffering an apparent heart attack in his sleep,” the UFC said in an official statement
.“Despite the efforts of the responding medical team, he was pronounced deceased at the scene. Our thoughts and deepest condolences are with Allan’s family, friends, teammates, and loved ones during this incredibly difficult time.”
The sudden death of Allan Nascimento has sent shockwaves throughout the sport, with fighters, coaches, and fans paying tribute to one of the UFC flyweight division’s most respected competitors.
Nascimento last competed inside the Octagon on June 20, when he dropped a closely contested split decision to Mitch Raposo. During his UFC run, he compiled a 4-2 record and earned notable victories over Cody Durden and Jake Hadley.
An accomplished grappler, Allan Nascimento became known for his dangerous submission game and relentless fighting style. He collected two Performance of the Night bonuses during his UFC career and established himself as a serious threat in the flyweight division.
