Undefeated Prospect gets dangerous new test. An undefeated rising prospect has received a major late shake-up ahead of UFC Vegas 118 after his originally scheduled opponent was forced off the card..

Undefeated prospect Iwo Baraniewski has new opponent. According to reports, unbeaten Polish light heavyweight Iwo Baraniewski will now face hard-hitting heavyweight veteran Junior Tafa after Billy Elekana withdrew from the bout for undisclosed reasons. The fight remains scheduled for UFC Vegas 118 on June 6 at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas.

Baraniewski enters the matchup carrying an undefeated 8-0 professional record and has quickly emerged as one of the UFC’s most talked-about young prospects at 205 pounds. The 27-year-old made a massive impression during his appearance on Dana White’s Contender Series, where he scored a devastating 20-second knockout to earn a UFC contract. Since joining the promotion, he has continued building momentum with explosive first-round finishes and aggressive striking performances. Now, instead of facing Elekana, Baraniewski gets a much more experienced and dangerous replacement opponent on short notice.

Junior Tafa accepts the fight looking to stay active after competing regularly throughout the year. The New Zealand-born striker has built a reputation for knockout power and willingness to take risky fights on short notice. Tafa most recently rebounded with a first-round knockout win over Kevin Christian after suffering a loss to Billy Elekana at UFC 325.

Despite being brought in late, Tafa’s power immediately adds danger to the matchup and presents the toughest test of Baraniewski’s young UFC career so far. The matchup creates an intriguing contrast between Baraniewski’s fast-rising momentum and Tafa’s proven experience inside the Octagon.
