In what was one of the most exciting fights in the history of the United Kingdom, but heavyweight history, Dynamite Daniel Dubois defeated WBO champion Fabio Wardley to become a 2x heavyweight champion.

The fight could not have started with more calamity for Daniel as within the first 10 seconds of the first fight, Fabio Wardley drops Daniel Dubois shocking the 18,000 people in the CoOp arena in the UK, but the Man from Greenwich got up and started to make his way back into the fight. However in the third round, Daniel takes another heavy shot from Fabio again and is on the canvas. But he does not quit, he rallies and puts together the performance of his life and uses his skills to outbox Fabio Wardley battering him for the next 6 rounds before referee Howard foster called for a stop to this contest. Credit to where credit is do, Wardley put up a brave effort and showed so much heart but he was too damaged to work his way back into the fight.

It was sensational work from Don Charles in his corner to rally Daniel but all credit to Daniel himself for not quitting and proving to himself that he belongs at the top of the heavyweight division. He got knocked down but he got up again and this is a man who will keep getting up until he gets the win.
The aftermath of this fight leaves us as fans with a laundry list of possibilities. Frank Warren stated there is a rematch clause so we could see this amazing fight happen again. However, the WBO’s mandatory no. 1 challenger is calling for his shot to be the Youngest champion in the history, Moses Itauma is looking for heavyweight gold and has no issues going through Daniel Dubois to get it. There is also an Usyk fight on the table as Usyk said he would fight the winner of Wardley Dubois. So whatever road he takes we don’t know for now, but we as fight fans will be behind him.
But we did learn a very valuable lesson from Wardley vs Dubois, there are consequences to playing with Dynamite.
