Charles Jourdain breaks Kyler Phillips. The co-main event of UFC Winnipeg delivered chaos, scrambles, and nonstop action as Charles Jourdain and Kyler Phillips went to war over three intense rounds and Jourdain walked away with a statement win in front of a fired-up crowd.
On April 18, 2026, inside the buzzing Canada Life Centre, the co-main event didn’t wait for the spotlight, it demanded it. Before the main event fighters even made their walk, this matchup had already captured attention. The energy in the arena was building, and the co-main event felt like the perfect storm.
Kyler Phillips entered the bout looking to bounce back after a mixed run in recent fights. In his last three outings he suffered a unanimous decision loss to Vinicius Oliveira at UFC 318 . He dropped another unanimous decision to Rob Font. Before that, he earned a unanimous decision win over Pedro Munhoz in March 2024. While Phillips showed flashes of his speed, movement, and striking creativity, results had not consistently gone his way. The losses highlighted a growing need for a statement performance to regain momentum in a competitive bantamweight division.
Charles Jourdain, meanwhile, entered the fight on a strong run of performances and growing confidence. His recent results include a submission win over Davey Grant in October 2025 via guillotine choke at UFC Vancouver and a submission win over Victor Henry in 2024, also via guillotine choke. Also a loss to Jean Silva via second-round KO. Jourdain’s recent wins showed a clear evolution in his game.
The fight started and Phillips came out aggressive, immediately closing the distance and landing a quick left hand. He wasted no time shooting for a takedown and got the fight to the mat early. On the ground, Phillips controlled the position well moving to side control and landing short elbows and punches. Jourdain tried to threaten with submissions, briefly locking a triangle and later a guillotine, but Phillips stayed calm and escaped both attempts.
Even when Jourdain scrambled back to his feet, Phillips kept pressure on him, dragging him back down and maintaining control.

Round two began and Jourdain landed a clean body kick, but his leg was caught again as Phillips quickly turned it into a takedown. What followed were wild scrambles, with Jourdain constantly hunting for a guillotine choke. This time, he got back to his feet much faster and immediately turned aggressive, ripping shots to the body. Phillips was visibly breathing heavy at this point. Jourdain did excellent work in the clinch, mixing in sharp knees and uppercuts. Phillips responded with a couple of snapping jabs, but Jourdain kept pushing the pace. In a big moment, Jourdain tossed him to the mat with an audible thud and capped off the round in style with a Rolling Thunder.
Jourdain came out pressing forward and landed a solid left hand early. Phillips fired back with a hook that snapped his head back. Phillips managed to secure a takedown, but he couldn’t hold Jourdain down for more than a few seconds. Back on the feet, Jourdain went back to work, ripping uppercuts in the clinch and forcing Phillips onto the back foot. Phillips had his moments, landing a clean uppercut as his boxing looked sharper than in the previous round. Phillips caught a jumping knee and turned it into another easy takedown, but he immediately had to defend a kimura attempt. Once they returned to the feet, Jourdain shut down another takedown attempt and kept the pressure high. Another jumping knee from Jourdain split Phillips open, and from there, he poured it on, crashing forward with every strike and walking through any counters thrown his way. He closed the fight the same way he ended the previous round, landing one final Rolling Thunder.
After three rounds of scrambles, strikes, and momentum swings, it was Charles Jourdain who found another gear late and walked away with a statement win in the co-main event.
