EARLY LIFE

Sylvester Chipfumbu is a seasoned fighter who began MMA training in 2006. During his amateur round, the fighter won the Cape Fight League Pro-Am Bantamweight Champ title. He is currently ranked #3 in South Africa’s pro bantamweights and #24 in Middle East pro bantamweights. He has competed in six amateur rounds and fifteen professional fights.

MMA CAREER

The athlete began his amateur career at Tricore Fight Night 3, facing Van Vuuren and winning the match after a referee stoppage. Next he faced his consecutive opponents at Cape Fight League. Chipfumbu battled Gerry Gerhardt and destroyed him with a triangle choke in round three. He soon faced Henndrik Cloete and defeated him with a round of savage punches that led to a TKO. Later, he faced Mordechai Serraf and won the battle unanimously. He soon defeated Jean Du Plessis after hammering his opponent with strikes that led to round-four TKO. His last recorded fight was against Mzamo Madlopha, and he won the battle after a unanimous decision.

He finally made his professional debut at the EFC Worldwide 48, where he faced Pieter De Klerk and dominated his opponent in the round following a TKO due to punches. Next he won the fight against Louren Botes after a unanimous decision. Guy Mongambi was his next opponent, and he defeated his rival in a unanimous decision.

Afterwards he faced Abdul Hassan and won the match following a TKO in round two. He soon went up against Nkazimulo Zulu for the EFC worldwide flyweight championship. Zulu came in with heavy leg kicks before a takedown by Chipfumbu, but they were soon back on their feet. Zulu responded with a high kick, but Chipfumbu came in with another leg kick but was back up again. The two continued to exchange vicious strikes through the round, but Zulu finally landed a combo of savage punches that led to a TKO in round four.

Following this, he battled Tumisang Madiba. The two came in with much intensity, landing flying kicks and savage punches before a clinch against the cage. Chipfumbu landed some knee strikes on the body but landed an illegal groin strike, leading to a break in the fight. The match continued, and Madiba landed a one-two combo that rocked Chipfumbu, but he soon recovered. The two continued to exchange blows and soon clinched up against the cage till round one ended. Round you began with brutal shots from Madiba before a sprawl by Chipfumbu. Chipfumbu soon had him on the floor, where he landed heavy ground and pound and kept his opponent in that position till the round ended. Round three saw Chipfumbu attack Madiba from the back and locked him in a rear naked choke.

Subsequently, he faced Abdul Hussein at Brave FC 19 and lost the fight to a unanimous decision. Next, he lost to Fafa Owama after an illegal kick in round three. His next opponents were Asiashu Tshitamba and Faeez Jacobs, whom he defeated after a unanimous decision. After this, he had four consecutive fights at the UAE Warriors tournament. He faced Vinicius Oliveria and lost the battle after getting locked in a rear naked choke in round one. Next, he battled Helder Fernandes and won the battle after hammering his opponent with savage punches, which led to a KO in round two. Afterward, he battled Jaures Dea and lost the battle after a unanimous decision was made. Later, he defeated Imad Bouamri and won the fight after a TKO in round one. His last recorded battle was against Sindile Manengela, and he won the fight after a unanimous decision.
