Medical issue forces Dillon Danis out of Misfits Mania fight against Anthony Taylor. The buzz surrounding the upcoming Misfits MMA-style card just got louder, but for all the wrong reasons. Anthony Taylor will no longer meet Dillon Danis on December 20, 2025, after Danis was pulled from the fight due to medical reasons.
Danis was scheduled to defend his Misfits MMA Light Heavyweight title against Taylor at Misfits Mania set to take place in Dubai. However, in a surprising turn, the promotion announced that Danis will no longer compete, citing medical unfitness. According to the announcement, independent doctors determined Danis was not cleared to fight after his recent involvement in a violent brawl at UFC 322.
“Unfortunately, Dillon Danis will not be competing at “The Fight Before Christmas” event in Dubai on December 20, 2025. “Independent physicians have determined that he is not medically cleared to compete at this time due to the melee that occurred at Madison Square Garden last month.
“We want to be very direct: this call is being made solely by medical professionals. Dillon pushed for everyb possible path to remain on the card, but the doctors were not willing to clear him to compete this month. “Misfits Boxing takes athlete health extremely seriously, and we fully expect him back in the Misfits ring in 2026 to defend his Misfits MMA title.”

Danis was at the center of a chaotic altercation that erupted in the crowd at UFC 322 which ultimately led UFC CEO Dana White to ban him from attending future UFC events. As of now, the exact medical concern keeping him out of the upcoming fight has not been disclosed. The loss of Danis vs. Taylor reshuffles expectations for what was expected to be one of the card’s major draws.
Misfits organisers emphasized fighter safety in their statement, suggesting that they’ll wait to rebook Danis only when he’s fully cleared to compete. Fans will still get a major event, the Misfits 2025 “Fight Before Christmas” card remains scheduled and now headlined by a crossover boxing bout between Andrew Tate and Chase DeMoor along with an appearance from former UFC interim champ Tony Ferguson.
As uncertainty surrounds Dillon Danis’ withdrawal, the spotlight now shifts to Anthony Taylor, who must wait to see which opponent steps in next. Whether this medical setback keeps Danis out for long remains to be seen, but one thing is certain, when his name is involved, the drama never stays quiet for long.
